Meet the Team
Loren Vazquez Zubieta, MA, BA
Loren is an Economist by trade holding both B.A. in Administration and Economics from Bishops’ University and a M.A. in Economics from Queen’s University in Canada. Prior to ELVMC, she worked in finance as a Quantitative Analyst for Electricity, Natural gas and Oil trading.
Her passion for traveling brought her to all parts of the world, where she quickly developed a deep love for diving, marine environments and wildlife. With the help of husband Eric, she decided to leave the corporate finance life behind to engage directly with conservation and to share her passion for the marine environment.
Loren has tested her hand at entrepreneurship by successfully building, operating and managing a dive resort in remote Indonesia. She takes great joy in working with businesses to get into the gritty details, and pride in seeing them succeed.
Loren is a proud polyglot, speaking fluently French, English, Spanish and Indonesian with a good understanding of Portuguese, Italian and German
Eric James McAskill, MBA, PMP.
After graduating with an MBA in Management, Eric started his career in the Canadian Aerospace and Defence sector, where he would develop an expertise on an international scale while working with manufacturers and government agencies around the world.
Moving to Indonesia in 2015, Eric has spent 10 years establishing one of the Premier SCUBA diving destinations in the world: Kalimaya Dive Resort. Starting a business in an undeveloped region with zero tourism and minimal infrastructure didn’t just require starting a venture, it required creating an entire market.
Eric has leveraged this experience to work with numerous hotels and businesses to establish themselves and to help them implement best practices in their operations.
Eric loves SCUBA diving, Aquascaping, Skiing, and travel.
